Head Coach: Meghan Barany
Meghan Barany is a resident of Manassas, Virginia, where she shares a home with her husband and two children. She is an Accounting Manager for a local builder and a big volleyball enthusiast. Originating from Louisiana, Meghan was raised in a Catholic family of four. Receiving her First Communion and then her Confirmation in high school, Meghan solidified her bond with Jesus Christ. She was an altar girl throughout middle and high school, and currently attends All Saints Church in Manassas, Virginia.
Having played volleyball throughout middle school, high school and college, she is thrilled to give back to the sport in which she has so gratefully received training. Meghan has coached volleyball for the past 1 ½ years at the Boys & Girls Club in Manassas, and is currently working on receiving her USA Volleyball CAP I certification. She is very excited to join the NVHAA family.
Meghan feels that, “Helping young players grow spiritually and mentally is the best part of being a mentor. Investing time in their development as athletes not only builds their confidence as an individual, but as a team player. This will carry on with them throughout their adult life.”
Coaches and Staff: Volunteers are always needed to help support the Head Coach and team! Jobs such as team parent rep, admin assistant, assistant coach, medic, etc are some of the opportunities for serving. NVHAA has provided the legal, administrative, logistical, and financial support to start the Centurions Girls Volleyball Team. Now we need your help in filling these important team positions. Although it would be helpful, experience is not necessary to be the Coach or Admin Asst. A willingness to serve is the only real requirement. Regardless, if there are enough girls interested, there will be a team!
POC: Head Coach at VBCoach@nvhaacenturions.org or Team Manager at email@example.com
Basic Team Info for New Players:
Shoe Suggestions: (Coach Meghan has personally worn these shoes over the years, and they are by far the best shoe on the court. Ankle support, court grip, and arch support is the best I’ve ever had.)
2. Asics 2
Kneepad Suggestions: (Mizuno & Asics are the best- Nike should never be worn! There is not enough padding and can actually displace a kneecap)
